Governor Lamont Lays Out What Comes Next for Connecticut as Fazio Offers No Plan for the Next Four Years
Lamont Makes the Case for More Progress, Lower Costs and Greater Opportunity As Fazio Hides From His Own Record
Uncasville, CT – In tonight’s gubernatorial debate, hosted by WTNH and the Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM) and sponsored by AARP, Governor Ned Lamont made the case for building on the progress his administration has delivered and continuing to lower costs for Connecticut families.
Ryan Fazio spent the debate trying to hide from his own record of voting against Connecticut families while offering nothing about what he would actually get done as governor. Governor Lamont highlighted what comes next with a forward-looking agenda focused on lowering costs, strengthening the state’s finances, expanding affordable healthcare, investing in schools, and standing up to Donald Trump.
“Connecticut has never been a state that backs down,” said Governor Ned Lamont. “In the face of great challenges, we’ve always been a state that steps up. When times get tough, we pull together, not apart, and always have each other’s back. We’ve built real momentum together, but our work isn’t done. I look forward to serving the people of Connecticut the next four years.”
Governor Lamont highlighted the difference between delivering actual results and making unachievable promises. His administration has strengthened Connecticut’s finances while cutting income taxes, expanding education funding, making community college tuition-free for eligible students, and expanding access to free school meals. He also emphasized the need to keep lowering costs and protecting Connecticut residents from the consequences of President Trump’s policies.
“Connecticut families deserve a governor who delivers, not a politician whose numbers don’t add up and whose priorities are out of step with the people would represent,” said Lauren Gray, Communications Director. “Governor Lamont has balanced the budget, paid down billions in debt, cut income taxes, and invested in our schools. Ryan Fazio voted against investments in Connecticut families, schools, and hospitals and continues to proudly align himself with Donald Trump. The choice is between a governor with a record of getting things done and a candidate who puts his personal political agenda ahead of progress for Connecticut families.”
Early voting continues through Sunday, November 1, and no-excuse absentee ballots are available. Find voting information and make a plan to vote at nedlamont.com/vote. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3.
