Governor Lamont Launches New Ad Highlighting Fazio's Plan to Raise Connecticut Families' Health Care Costs by $800 a Month
HARTFORD, CT – Today, Governor Ned Lamont’s campaign released a new ad, “My Patients,” spotlighting Republican gubernatorial candidate Ryan Fazio’s vote to raise health care costs for Connecticut families by $800 a month, and his vote against state efforts to help families cover that increase.
The ad features Eileen, a nurse of more than forty years who describes the toll Trump’s cuts to Obamacare took on her patients, and how Governor Lamont stepped in to help thousands of families afford their premiums. Fazio, by contrast, voted to support Trump’s cuts and to raise health care costs for Connecticut families by $800 a month.
“I’ve been a nurse for over forty years. I’ve seen it all,” Eileen says in the ad. “When Trump cut Obamacare, it was devastating. But then, our Governor stepped in. Ned Lamont helped thousands of families pay for their premiums.”
That record stands in contrast to Governor Lamont’s, who has worked to shield Connecticut families from the fallout of Trump’s health care cuts through the creation of the Federal Cuts Relief Fund, which backfilled health subsidies that Trump previously slashed for middle class families. Fazio, meanwhile, opposed efforts to provide state funding to help middle-class families cover the increases in their premiums.

“Families in Connecticut are still feeling the impact from Trump’s health care cuts, and Ned Lamont has been the one working to ease that burden,” said Lauren Gray, Communications Director for the Ned Lamont Campaign. “Ryan Fazio had the chance to stand with those families and chose Trump instead, voting for cuts that are now costing them $800 a month. Connecticut families deserve a governor who fights for their health care, not one who votes to make it more expensive.”
The ad is airing alongside digital and social platforms.
