Connecticut's U.S. Senate Delegation Endorses Governor Ned Lamont for Re-Election
HARTFORD, C.T. – Today, both of Connecticut’s U.S. Senators endorsed Governor Ned Lamont for re-election. Senator Richard Blumenthal and Senator Chris Murphy provided statements expressing their support.
“Governor Lamont has delivered real results for Connecticut families. He passed one of the nation’s most comprehensive paid family leave programs, raised the minimum wage, cut taxes for working families, and made historic investments in health care, child care, housing, and jobs,” said Senator Blumenthal. “He has also worked closely with me and the Connecticut congressional delegation to secure disaster relief for flood and storm victims, expand job training opportunities, and bring federal resources home to strengthen our communities.
“But the job is not done. Families are still facing high costs, and we must keep pushing back against disastrous policies from the Trump administration that threaten health care and food assistance and hurt us here at home. Governor Lamont has a clear plan to keep moving Connecticut forward by lowering costs and continuing to invest in opportunities for working families. That’s why I am proud to stand with him and strongly support his re-election,” said Senator Blumenthal.
“Governor Lamont has been a steady leader for Connecticut as we’ve weathered everything from COVID to the Trump administration’s full-scale attack on our democracy,” said Senator Murphy. “Under his leadership, Connecticut has made real progress with expanding paid family leave, raising the minimum wage, investing in health care and housing.”
“Right now, Connecticut’s values are under attack, and we need leaders who will fight for our state. Governor Lamont has a plan to make Connecticut more affordable by expanding early child care education, building more housing, lowering health care costs, and helping families with energy costs and that’s why I’m proud to endorse Governor Lamont for re-election,” said Senator Murphy.
In response to the endorsement from Senators Blumenthal and Murphy, Governor Ned Lamont said:
“Senators Blumenthal and Murphy are tireless advocates for Connecticut, and I’m honored to have their support and grateful for our partnership. We share a simple goal to protect our progress and make sure this state works for everyone. By focusing on fiscal responsibility and standing up for our values, we’re proving that Connecticut’s best days are ahead of us.”
