Field Director
Governor Ned Lamont’s 2026 re-election campaign is seeking a strategic, results-driven Field Director to lead and execute the campaign’s statewide organizing and voter contact program. This is a senior leadership role for a proven, data-driven operator who can build, manage, and scale a high-performing field program through the convention and general election.
The Field Director will oversee all aspects of the campaign’s field operation, including staff management, voter contact strategy and turnout efforts. This role works closely with senior campaign leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive field plan that drives voter engagement and delivers winning results across Connecticut.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the campaign’s statewide field strategy, including voter contact, volunteer recruitment, and voter turnout operations.
- Set and drive ambitious but achievable goals for voter contact, volunteer engagement, and organizing efforts across the campaign.
- Build the field team in coordination with the Organizing Director.
- Oversee canvassing, phone banking, relational organizing, and other voter outreach programs.
- Ensure strong data-driven systems, tracking, and reporting processes are in place, maintaining high standards of data integrity and accountability.
- Analyze strategy performance and adjust as needed to meet benchmarks.
- Work closely with senior leadership, political, and communications teams to integrate field strategy into the overall campaign plan.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and grassroots leaders across Connecticut.
- Oversee training programs for staff and volunteers to ensure consistent organizing practices.
- Staff the candidate and campaign surrogates at events and key organizing moments as needed.
- Assist with convention operations and lead general election field strategy.
- Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to senior campaign leadership.
Qualifications
- At least 5–7 cycles of campaign organizing experience, including senior-level field leadership experience.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale organizing programs and delivering measurable results.
- Demonstrated experience hiring, training, and managing staff.
- Deep understanding of voter contact programs, including canvassing, phone banking, and volunteer-driven organizing models.
- Strong proficiency with VAN and familiarity with peer-to-peer texting and dialing tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work campaign hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Willingness to relocate to Connecticut and travel statewide as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
- Experience organizing in Connecticut is preferred but not required.

- Monthly salary of $7,500 - $8,500 commensurate with experience
