" Gov. Ned Lamont started to lay out his vision for a third term Friday, crisscrossing the state on a tour to publicly launch his reelection campaign.
During stops in Bridgeport, New Haven, New London, Hartford, and Waterbury, Lamont talked about job training, electricity prices, and healthcare costs, indicating his focus will be on affordability.
'Just wait for the next four years,' Lamont said during a walking tour in New Haven while touting housing growth and economic development.
. . .
Lamont did lay out two campaign promises Friday, including announcing his vision for a Connecticut plan to bring down healthcare costs.
While in New Haven, he said the plan would create a “preferred network” of healthcare providers who would offer lower rates and other incentives for patients.
Lamont said the network would be open to state employees, but he’s also looking to offer those breaks to small businesses and people who purchase insurance through Access Health CT.
He also said the details are still in the works but he’s been talking with Comptroller Sean Scanlon, whose office administers that health insurance program for state employees.
Lamont and running mate, Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz, also promised to build 30,000 housing units on state land."
