Digital Director

Governor Ned Lamont’s 2026 re-election campaign is seeking an experienced, creative, and strategic Digital Director to lead the campaign’s digital program. This is a senior communications role for a strong manager who can translate campaign strategy into compelling digital content, grow and engage online audiences, and drive persuasion, mobilization, and rapid response across platforms.

The Digital Director works closely with the Communications Director, senior campaign leadership, and consultants to develop and execute a comprehensive digital strategy that supports the campaign’s political, communications, and organizing goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the campaign’s comprehensive digital strategy across platforms, including email, SMS, social media, and web
  • Oversee content creation, including graphics and video, while ensuring brand consistency
  • Lead digital rapid response efforts in coordination with the communications team
  • Manage relationships with digital vendors, consultants, and platform partners
  • Collaborate closely with field and political teams to integrate digital organizing, fundraising, and voter contact efforts
  • Analyze digital performance metrics and adjust strategy to maximize reach, engagement, and conversion
  • Supervise digital staff and interns as the team grows; set clear expectations and provide regular feedback
  • Ensure digital efforts support key campaign moments, including announcements, earned media, debates, conventions, GOTV and everyday activities
  • Integrate multilingual communication in digital activities in coordination with communications staff
  • Monitor digital trends, platform changes, and opposition activity to identify opportunities and risks

Qualifications

  • At least 3–5 cycles of digital campaign experience, senior-level responsibility on campaigns is preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated success managing digital and social media programs
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone and message across platforms and audiences
  • Experience managing digital vendors and budgets
  • Proficiency with social media publishing tools and analytics dashboards
  • Ability to think strategically while executing quickly in a fast-paced campaign environment
  • Proven leadership and management skills, including experience supervising staff or contractors
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across departments
  • Ability to work campaign hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Willingness to relocate to Connecticut and travel statewide as needed

Compensation & Benefits

  • Monthly salary of $6,750 – $7,500, commensurate with experience
  • Mileage reimbursement
