Social Media Leads
Governor Ned Lamont’s 2026 re-election campaign is seeking nimble, creative, and hardworking Social Media Leads to join our digital team. This is an entry-level to mid-entry-level role for energetic content creators who want to help shape and share the story of Governor Lamont’s leadership, vision, and ongoing work to keep Connecticut moving forward.
The ideal candidate is upbeat, social, highly organized, and thrives in fast-paced, on-the-go environments. These roles blend creative content production with event staffing and travel. Social Media Leads will capture day-to-day moments, produce motivating and engaging static and video content, and help communicate the campaign’s message of affordability, progress, and Connecticut pride.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture, edit, and produce daily social media content (video and static) for TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X, and Threads.
- Proactive and reactive community management
- Travel across Connecticut to staff events, film candidate interactions, and create real-time content.
- Work closely with the Digital Director and communications team to execute content calendars and rapid-response needs.
- Manage social media assets, organize footage, and ensure timely delivery of posts.
- Help develop creative concepts that highlight key campaign themes including affordability, economic growth, public safety, and other core priorities.
- Interact with campaign staff, supporters, and events teams to ensure smooth and effective content capture.
- Uphold campaign branding, voice, and message consistency.
- Represent the campaign with professionalism, warmth, and enthusiasm.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in content creation (professional or personal portfolio). Political experience is not required.
- Strong creative instincts with the ability to produce compelling, clean, and well-edited content.
- Proficiency with editing tools such as CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or similar.
- Proficiency with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- High proficiency with iPhone photography and videography.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, manage deadlines, and thrive in a fast-moving campaign environment.
- Positive, outgoing, and team-oriented attitude.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
- Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Comfort traveling with the candidate and campaign leadership across the state.
Compensation and Benefits
- Monthly salary of $4,500 – $5,500, commensurate with experience.
- Mileage reimbursement.
- Healthcare coverage.
