Ned Lamont for Senate

Ned Lamont for U.S. Senate Radio Ad

Maybe it's the poll numbers released last week showing our campaign well within striking distance less than two months from primary day. Maybe it's the overflowing crowds at rallys and events across the state. Whatever the reason, Senator Lieberman continues to openly contemplate the unthinkable for any proud Democrat, abandoning the party and running as an Indepedent this November. That's why our campaign has started a full run of radio ads featuring Ned asking the Senator to pledge his support to the primary winner, whoever it is.

Transcript:

Ned: I'm Ned Lamont, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate. Unlike Senator Lieberman, I'm not taking millions of dollars from corporate lobbyists. That's OK, I don't want their money, and I don't need it. The only interest group I will owe, is you. But when the senator uses those millions to attack me and distort the truth, I have to call him on it. Senator Lieberman is trying to distract you from his own voting record, and his undermining of the Democratic agenda. I may be the underdog in this race, but I won't roll over every time the Bush/Cheney Adminstration demands it.

So I have a challenge for our junior senator. Joe, let's both go to the Democratic primary on August 8th, and let the people of Connecticut decide. I'll pledge to back you one hundred percent if you win. And for the good of the party, you'll pledge to support me one hundred percent if I'm victorious. What do you say Senator? May the best Democrat win. I'm Ned Lamont, I'm running for the U.S. Senate, and I approve this message.
